No sound on iOS or Android device
Prerequisites
Zoom Mobile App on your iOS or Android device (available in the Apple App Store and Google Play).
Troubleshooting speaker problems
If you cannot hear other participants at a Zoom conference, follow the steps below to correct the problem.
Make sure the speaker is turned on. If a disabled speaker icon is displayed in the upper left corner, tap the icon to turn the speaker on.
Increase the volume on your mobile device using the volume buttons or the notification panel. Even if the speaker is turned on in Zoom, the volume of the device can be set to mute or vibrate.
Try using headphones.
Reboot your mobile device.
Reinstall Zoom from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Troubleshooting microphone problems
If you are having trouble using the microphone with the Zoom Mobile App, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Make sure the microphone sound is not muted. If the mute icon is displayed in the conference controls, tap the icon to turn the sound on.
If the sound remains muted, the organizer may have turned it off immediately after you logged in. Ask the organizer to turn on the sound by sending them a message in the chat room.
Make sure you have connected the audio of your mobile device. If the Join Audio icon is displayed in the conference controls, click it and select the Connect Audio option. When prompted, allow Zoom access to the microphone.
Try using headphones with the microphone.
Make sure Zoom has access to the device's microphone.
On an iOS device: Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and turn on the switch for Zoom.
On an Android device: Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Permissions or Permissions Manager > Microphone and turn on the switch for Zoom.
Make sure that no other applications are using the microphone at the same time.
On an iOS device: Double-tap the Home button to view the currently running apps. Swipe up to close the app.
On an Android device: Tap the multifunction button (the square icon usually located in the bottom right corner) to view the currently running apps. Swipe left or right to close the app.
Reboot your iOS device.
Reinstall Zoom from Apple App Store or Google Play.
